Our Karate Kids Program Has Many Parts
(Karate, Self Defense, Character Development, Confidence)
We offer group and private lessons for children in this group. We teach Kempo Karate, self defense, and personal development. We are staffed with adult certified black belt instructors. We hire many of our Junior Black Belts as their first job so they will have years of apprenticing before they test to become instructors.
Adults and children are taught in separate classes. All students are grouped by age, size, maturity and belt colors. Students develop at their own pace. We do not give belts based on attendance. Personal development, fun, and self defense are taught in a safe and exciting manner. The child learns to be a success by their own work. We are always here to help parents and students to reach their full potential. Success is earned not given. Your child will see their success because of our success-based program. Kicking, punching, blocking are only parts of karate. In order for a child to feel confident they need to count on themselves. We teach and help them do that. When a student earns a belt here they have really earned it.Child Self Defense Program.
Each belt the child achieves has self defense techniques that are required. Many karate schools don't teach self defense as part of the curriculum. Self defense is not part of karate. We will teach your child not just how to block, kick, and punch, but what to do if someone grabs them or tries to hold them down. Headlocks, bear hugs, full nelsons and many other types of aggressive moves are as common if not more common than punches and kicks. Knowing self defense can make the difference.Child Character Development Program.
New Horizon Karate has an extensive character development program. This unique system helps our younger student to gain confidence and self esteem and to understand more than just self defense. Students focus on old fashioned values. Many parents have told us we help them with many aspects of their child's development. We believe children need to be kids before they learn how to become adults. We make our program fun, focused, and different every day. In this way the children learn the value of working hard, while having fun and learning the valuable skill associated with the Martial Arts. The safety of your child is our highest priority.
